For years, a handful of plastic farm animals have sat, perched, and stood on windowsills, counters, bookshelves. Recently, tiny glass bunnies with pink eyes have joined the old pink-eyed hare on a piece of dimpled sandstone—a souvenir from Newcastle Island. The old pig and the chicken that used to sit nearby seem to have gone AWOL. They may have dropped and been lost in bins of Lego, but seeing the lip-smacking attention our cat is giving the bunnies as I take this picture, I think she may know something about the disappearances.
