On a much-coveted visit to our son’s Grade 3 classroom tonight, a view inside his desk reveals his favourite stubby yellow pencil—the smallest writing instrument ever, I’m sure. I think it makes his writing a bit messy but he says it helps him do his math better.

  1. I love Dylan!!!! Just shows that a wonderful thoughtful creative writer and student can make use of whatever tool is at his or her disposal. Reminds me of stories I’ve heard of Auntie Joan cooking wonderful food on a one or two burner element (?can’t remember which)… if you’ve “got it” you’ve “got it”! Love that little pencil… !
