My 9-year-old son’s obsession with Lego has taken a newly creative turn—making tiny custom heads for mini-figures with SCULPEY modeling clay. He builds them right on the neck for a perfect fit and I bake them to the hardness of Lego plastic on the pizza tray. His humour and sensibilities  have naturally led his head-making into the realm of aliens and monsters. These are the creations of the morning, baked and pocketed before heading off to school.

  1. I’ve been looking forward to seeing a yambird about this. Why the Google ads on this blog?

    • I’m not seeing ads. I like how yambird has become a verb to us! Dylan asked if I was going to be ‘yambirding’ his heads when he saw me taking a picture of them in the oven.
(PS who’s going to be first to break down and clean the oven?!)
