On this dark first day of November, a robin appeared in the pear tree across the alley. I mistook him at first for one of the last coloured leaves on the tree. . .until he sang.

  1. Suz: You and your camera lens capture such beauty and brighten the darkest day…. merci.

    • That’s such a nice compliment. Thanks! I’m glad for my camera on dark days…for some reason it helps me look for the bright spots.

  2. Robins always make me think of Gramma! Remember them out in the mountain ash tree … drunk from eating the berries?

or… my favourite song from elementary school that I still love…

Robin in the rain, what a saucy fellow.
Robin in the rain, mind your socks of yellow.
Running in the garden in your stocking feet.
Pecking for your dinner with your long, strong beak.
Robin in the rain, you don’t mind the weather,
    Showers always make you gay.
But the worms are wishing that you’d stayed at home!
Robin on a rainy day… hey!”

    Gorgeous photo… brought up memories.

  3. oops… correction…

    worms WERE wishing…
given they were eaten… in the song 🙂
